Getting Started
Everything you need to go from downloading Sussur to your first coached meeting. Plan for about 20 minutes, most of it a one-time download.
Updated 2026-08-18
Sussur is a macOS app that coaches you in real time during your calls. It listens to what is being said and surfaces a quiet suggestion at the moment it matters, then writes up the meeting after.
Setting up takes about 20 minutes end to end. Most of that is a one-time speech-model download you can kick off and walk away from. Here is the whole path:
- Check your Mac — Sussur runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 13 or later.
- Download and install — grab the
.dmg, drag Sussur to Applications. - Grant permissions — Microphone and Screen Recording. (Screen Recording is how Sussur hears the other side of the call.)
- Connect AI — paste your own OpenRouter API key, or point Sussur at Ollama running locally.
- Your first session — join a call and watch the coaching appear.
Tip
Want to see it before you install? Watch the interactive demo — it walks through a coached call in about two minutes.
What Sussur is (and isn't)
Sussur is real-time coaching, not a transcription service or a CRM. Three things make it work:
- In the moment. Suggestions appear during the call, not in a report afterward.
- It learns. Every call sharpens the next through evolving notes on the people you talk to.
- Private by design. Capture and transcription run on your Mac, and your audio and video never leave it. Transcript text goes to the AI provider whose key you supplied, to generate the coaching — or nowhere at all, if you run Ollama locally. Sussur makes no inference from faces or tone of voice. See Privacy, Recording & Consent.
If something goes wrong during setup, Troubleshooting is organized by what you're seeing.
